Approach

Here are some maps and hints how to get to Balingen...

To find your way around at Balingen you may download citymap as pdf-file (you'll need Acrobat Reader to view it) from the server of the Stadthalle Balingen. Unfortunately, you won't find the "Messegelände" at the map itself. It's located a bit further to the south of the lower map border.

Travel by car

There are three ways to Balingen, which is not too far from Stuttgart. As soon as you're in Germany, you can get to us

1. via A81 from the North: look out for Exit Empfingen

2. via A81 from the South: take Exit Oberndorf / Balingen

3. via B27: from Stuttgart to Tübingen, then towards Hechingen and straight ahead facing Balingen

Here's a map to help you...

Travel by train

In case you're getting to Balingen by train from abroad you'll have to stop quite definitely at Stuttgart and change trains there. There are a few direct connections from Stuttgart to Balingen, still most connections will make it necessary for you to change train once again at Tübingen. All those trains from Tübingen run directly to Balingen then, though. You may find detailed informations about travelling by train in Germany and schedules at the homepage of the German Train Company "Deutsche Bahn"...

The train station you have to exit at is called "Balingen(Württ)". It's about a 15-minutes-walk from there to the Messegelände, where the festival takes place. .There's a citymap as pdf-file as well to be found at the server of the Stadthalle Balingen (unfortunately, you won't find the "Messegelände" at the map itself. It's located a bit further to the south of the lower map border).

There is a second train station at Balingen called "Südbahnhof" which lies very close to the Messegelände (approximately a 2 minutes-walk), still only few trains do stop there. In case you want to get out at that station please make sure, your train connection will allow you to do so.
